Learning Group Task: Playing the Mediator’s Role
This case study is about the conflict between SAAD and ZAHARA regarding “women’s professorial education and career”. Saad Rehman was a student at DIM Dacca institute of management. Saad, Zahra and Amna, these were in the arguments regarding Woman career, higher and professional educations. Saad is from a family of those, where girls were married after they completed their intermediate Examinations. According to him girls, women were only to take care of the house in Bangladesh. But the point of views of Zahra were totally reversed then Saad. They argued for another 45 minutes; after that they realized that time for discussions were over. Also, the conflict was not over. The next day’s Saad said that his vision and interpersonal communication skills. He just wanted to give his problem-solving analysis to other people in groups or individuals. He did not like the co-educational system. He also added that he already compromised his beliefs by going into the co-education institution in Dacca (DIM). This led him in isolation and all girls were aloof from him due to his such critical thoughts. One of his friends at air force, Khawar said, Well! about him regarding his ability to solve problems. But the main thing he mentions is that his beliefs are strongly dominant over his day-to-day interactions.

In this case the conflict about Coeducation System between Zara and Saad is being discussed.
2. How is the situation affecting the people involved and their work?
Ans. This issue bothered and disturbed all the members of his group specially Zara and Amna . Time of 45 minutes run out but they cannot complete their task due to this conflict.
3. How is this an opportunity to show leadership?
Ans. Leadership is an attitude and it demands some characteristics of leadership. in this case study there are many examples in which both parties can resolve their issue by adopting that qualities like accepting the point of view of other in spite of forcing others to accept and adopt the same approach.
4. How is solving this situation is an act of leadership?
Ans. The role of a leader is to complete the given task by facing all the circumstances and challenges in an effective way, the conflict on co-education was based on different perceptions of zara And Saad about female career . Their perceptions are based on their own past experience. They need to accept each other’s views, create flexibility in their firm believes. They need to discuss their points and tackle the Conflict in person meeting inspire of in group so that their team work will not affect by their conflict. Sad shows the quality of leadership when he realized his mistakes and his weak points of personality that he commit during conversation.
5. What would you do if you were in that place?
I did end up the arguments with friendly means. As I also against the co educations but not women career. As house holding itself a career. But one thing is that women can never be equal with men in career zone. They have different level. Also, I never intermix my religion to career I buildup career base on/ according to my religion.
